This was my beginning with digital photography. I was taking pictures like mad but some were standing out. I realized that some images could take the place of a quick sketch and still feel as fresh as, well, as fresh as a sketch. It was an apples/oranges thing. In the moments I either didn't have my sketchbook with me or didn't have the time to sit and sketch, I could take a snapshot. The bonus was it became an education in composition and color. I was hooked.
